Been visiting some old haunts lately,
sorta to catch up on old times
and also to find out how things are going for various people.
First up, Podz and in particularly, his post on [tag]blogging[/tag] realtime and on the fly. I fully concur with him and also Khaled in that blogging should be as impromptu as possible. Granted that some basic elements should be present, like proper spelling and the likes, the whole thought process that goes into a post should come across as fluid and not constructed.
However, we do come across [tag]blog[/tag]gers who have garnered a following by creating posts with fanciful prose and pseudo-cool ramblings. They do what they do best, so fair play to them. After all, we are in a society where demand will always be met by supply, rather than the other way round. I am only as good as my readers make me out to be. Podz is a chap whom have helped me countless times with my [tag]WordPress[/tag] and i am forever in his debt. But in no way am i patronizing him when i say that i agree that the brickbats, the rants and raves should be all about ‘the moment’. Its the basic root of this whole blogging philosophy isn’t it?
Khaled presents what i recognise as the essence of my blogging philosophy. I write what i like, what i dislike, how i feel, as and when i want to. It holds no barred and though some posts might be highly controversial, or might not go down well with [tag]friends[/tag], i am just calling an apple an apple. I believe that’s the right i have; to be able to pass my judgement of people or situations without fear of repercussions. It should be pointed out that when it comes to politics and especially the government, us [tag]Singapore[/tag]ans have to draw a line, because of the strict laws that are enforced to the letter.
Still, no worries, there’s plenty of cannon fodder even without the government factor. And its great to actually look back at what i have written and relive the moments again. Call me a sentimentalist, i am not going to retort.
